Today's Progress: The Soundtrack

As I tweak and add little things, I wanted to share what I've been listening to while I work...

Here's some albums you should be rocking...

  • The Cool Kids - The Bake Sale: Why? Because the beats are tasty and the rap is fun and irreverent. Yes, it's from a while ago, but it is still damn tasty.
  • The Airborne Toxic Event - All At Once: These guys are the band Arcade Fire wishes it was. Influences from everywhere... bathed in the light of Springsteen, but still relishing New Wave and The Cure, but keeping lovely splashes of old school punk.
  • Lonely Island - Turtleneck and Chain: Yeah... those guys from SNL. Some of the best beats you'll find lately... that and Mother Lover is genius and Michael Bolton is hilarious.
  • Dropkick Murphys - Going Out in Style: Because it is a new DKM record... why do you need more reason?
  • Flogging Molly - Just about the whole catalog really: After seeing them live a few weeks ago MrsRabbit and I have been rocking to the LA Irish pretty much non-stop.
  • My Chemical Romance - Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys: It is tight and the hooks grab you harder than anything should. Vampire Money is everything a rock song aught to be. These guys do over-the-top rock anthems better than anyone. Yes they are this generation's Kiss. But like Kiss before them, the fact that they don't deny their own contrived image makes the music that much more fun. They rock out without apology, and for that you simply must indulge.
  • Inception - Soundtrack, The Dark Knight - Soundtrack, The Prestige - Soundtrack: Man... all three showcase Nolan's sense of how music can augment a scene without overpowering it. I'm excited for The Dark Knight Rises in large part for the music.
Another note... this blog is having it's best month in terms of hits ever. Thanks for that. Glad everyone is interested in the building of a Narrative army. More to come... it should be okay to prime models finally. I plan on getting the Kill Krushas painted this weekend.
