Warhammer 40k: WGC Narrative Progress

And just like that, Mazkrank Gutskill is alive...

As much as it might annoy some to say it... this conversion would not have been possible without FineCast. The model in the heart of Mazkrank is the finecast body and head of Zagstruck. I was going to attempt it with the metal one I had laying around unpainted and unassembled, but to get the torso to fit the way I wanted would have required far too much trimming of metal. Even with the trusty Dremel, this would have been too much. The FineCast version proved much more workable.

The rest of the body is a mash-up of an Iron Clad Dreadnaught and bits from Burna Boyz, Deff Dreads and Killa Kans. There is also a bit of brass wire and bead tubing to add bits of detail. I was surprised how much the bits I simply had on my desk were exactly what I needed to make this guy come together. The Attack Squid at the base is the Squid from the Gretchin handler.

Again, to keep with the army theme, the paint scheme is simple: Boltgun Metal with Badab Black and Enchanted Blue. The White on his teeth is actually  Menoth Highlight from the P3 line. It is just bright enough to pop without being too white. The orange is GW Blazing Orange and the Squid is Mechrite Red Foundation Paint covered in Badab Black and Menoth Highlight.

BigRed and I are coming up with custom rules for this guy to be played at the WarGames Con Narrative. I can't wait to see him on the table.

What's Left:
I got the last of the Grots painted last night as well, and now lack only the 2nd Kill Krusha and a Big Mek with Kustom Force Field and the army is done. Should have them done this week, assuming my conversion happy inner Mek doesn't go crazy with some wild idea again.

So, what do you guys think?
