Thor Hushovd wins another stage and has been one of the lead stories of this year's le grande bouche. Fitting, since most of the race has been covered in seemingly endless rain. In post race comments, George Hincape made note of how cold he was and how ridiculous this weather is. Sitting her in Texas with 100 degrees every day and drought conditions, I'd trade that for rain in a heartbeat.
Keeping the Yellow Jersey is SRS BSNS!
Thomas Voekler kept his yellow for one more day, but in the end the GC story is Cadel Evans. Perhaps I'm able to predict anything after all. His form is fantastic and he has a determined look to him that reminds of Lance in his prime. The next week will be vicious and unfriendly, but ultimately telling and fantastic. Thursday, Friday and Saturday decide the race. The Col du Tourmalet and Alpe D'Huez will show us who truly can climb and the time trial will come down like a brick wall on the pretenders to the throne.
It looks as if the Schlecks don't have it, or at least didn't in Stage 16. Alberto seems to have found his legs. Is this really a two-man race? Five stages remain, and all will be decided soon enough.
